This is a question that many cookiers face. The reason why they are much higher in cost compared to store bought or regular drop cookies is because of the time that goes into each cookie. A set of one dozen cookies can take me anywhere from 1-3 days to complete depending on how detailed the design. Sugar cookies are not something that can be whipped up in a few hours.

Also, royal icing must dry completely before it can be packaged. This requires overnight drying to ensure the best quality cookies.

Sugar Cookie Ingredients - Flour, Butter, Granulated Sugar, Eggs, Baking Powder, Salt, Vanilla Extract, Lemon Extract

Royal Icing Ingredients - Powdered Sugar, Meringue Powder, Corn Syrup, Food Coloring, Corn Starch

Baked in a kitchen with known allergens, including but not limited to: Eggs, Wheat, Dairy, Peanuts, Soy

As early as you can! The sooner the better!

Cookies will stay fresh in a heat sealed cellophane bag at room temperature for up to 2 weeks (which is how the cookies arrive). Cookies can also be frozen in the cellophane bag in an air tight container for up to 3 months. When ready to use, simply allow the container and cookies to come to room temperature before opening container to avoid moisture getting into the cookies. Never put cookies in the refrigerator as the moisture will cause the colors to bleed.

Although nuts are not used in any of the ingredients, we are not a nut, soy, or dairy free kitchen.
